Finally! Unless we get sick or stuck in Cincinnati or something, I should be able to start sending out the BackerKit pledge manager invitations next Wednesday, a week from now.
I'd send them out now, but I really don't want to be at a Magic the Gathering event across the country and find out that I made some terrible mistake that I can't fix until I get home.
So watch for news about the pledge manager sometime next week! You won't need to fill it out if you aren't getting anything that needs to be mailed to you, but you DO need to fill it out if you're getting something in the mail! Otherwise I won't know where to send it.
In other news, Phil and I will be signing all the Magic the Gathering cards in Cincinnati at the Star City Games Magic the Gathering event this weekend! Also, the files for the books are at the printer, and the things that go into the Envelope of Madness have begun to arrive! When we get home we'll start signing all those book plates.

Late April Escape from the Island of the Rat Queen Update

Hello everyone!
I've been working hard on getting the BackerKit pledge manager up and running. I was hoping for this update to be the announcement that it's live, but I doubt I'll get it done today. It always takes SO LONG. I'll make a big announcement when it's time for you to fill out the BackerKit pledge manager!
Still, I do have something nice! Phil has finished a couple of the character illustrations! We've been keeping Cheyenne kind of busy with other things, so he hasn't had a chance to color them, but here's the first one. It's Anevka Sturmvoraus, and I'll have her colors as soon as I can.
I've placed the orders for all the rewards, so those should start landing here at the Studio soon as well. Then Phil and I have to sign all those bookplates, and pack the Envelopes of Madness. I very much hope to start shipping sometime early this Summer, but we'll see how fast we get things done.
I'll keep you up to date, at least once a month, but possibly more if there's more to tell. Thanks everyone!

Well, it's a week later than I planned, but I've finally got all the PDFs updated and the links sent out to eligible backers!
As with our past Kickstarters, the link in the email will take you to DriveThruComics, where the title will be entered into your shopping cart with the price set to zero. Just finish checkout, and, when you get to the page that says: “Your Order is Complete” be sure to click the “download,” or “DropBox” link to the right of the page. If you click on the book title itself, it will take you to info page in the catalog, which has tripped people up once or twice.
Several of you will probably get multiple emails from DriveThruComics. (I'm sorry, Gothfather and Petter, I think you each probably got at least four of them. You and a few other backers.) I had technical trouble as I was trying to process a long list of emails, and by the end I could practically hear the circus music.
If your email doesn't show up in the next day or so, please check your spam folders.
In other news, now that I have the PDF invites sent out, I'm prioritizing getting BackerKit live. I'm also talking to the printer about when they can fit us in for the job, and getting the Envelope of Madness worked out.

I've run into a small issue with the PDFs and have to re-do a couple of things, so the PDF Pile invitation emails will go out soon, but not today. I'm sorry for the delay! I'll post another update when they've gone out.
Phil has begun work on the character portrait stretch goals! Here's the pencil art for the Three Beautiful Mongfish Daughters and Anevka Sturmvoraus! (Anevka is still in the rough pencils, the Mongfishies have had their line art tidied up in preparation for coloring.)
From left to right, we have Demonica (Zola's mom) Lucrezia (Agatha's mom) and Serpentina (Theo's mom and the only nice one of the bunch).
I think Anevka looks a lot like Seffie, but she'll probably look different once the colors go in.

In other news, we're in contact with the printer and finalizing our press time with them. We're also finishing up the last of the small design tweaks on the travel stickers and Envelope of Madness goodies, and getting those ordered. We're also looking over those novel first drafts so we can start recording our reading sessions! That should be...terrible. It'll be terrible. It's a first draft. But it'll probably be funny so that's good.
